OWEN RIVER MOTELS

Our Owen River Motel units were constructed in January 2003, providing guests with comfortable, tranquil, and cost-effective accommodation equipped with modern amenities to meet your requirements. Situated against the backdrop of Mount Murchison, Owen River Motel offers ample parking space for cars, vans, and buses, making it an ideal stopover for drivers of large commercial vehicles.

 

Operating throughout the year, we offer six studio units, each featuring a bedroom, kitchenette, and en suite bathroom. Guests can opt for a super king-size bed or twin single king-size beds, all furnished with pristine white sheets, pillows, duvets, and electric blankets. Additional bedding is available upon request.

 

The units are equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, hot water jug/kettle, television with Freeview TV, internet plug-in point, wireless internet access, telephone, alarm clock, and heater. For added convenience, a washing machine, laundry tub, and dryer are provided on-site. The wheelchair-accessible en suite bathroom boasts a heated towel rail, complimentary soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Adjacent to the motel, an inviting outdoor seating area with barbecue facilities, picnic tables, and chairs offers a serene setting to unwind and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

 

Our cancellation policy allows for modifications or cancellations up to 1 day before the scheduled arrival date without incurring any charges.

In the event of a later cancellation, modification, or no-show, the total reservation price will be charged. We do not require a deposit upon booking, and meals are not included in the room rate.

 

Please note that our hotel does not accommodate children or provide cots in the rooms. Additional beds can be arranged for adults at a rate of NZ$55 per person per night, with a maximum of one extra bed per room.

The picturesque Owen River Recreation Reserve, nestled alongside the Buller River, offers an idyllic campsite ideal for a variety of water-based activities including trout fishing, kayaking, and white water rafting. Situated just a brief stroll from the Owen River Tavern, the campsite warmly welcomes camper vans and provides convenient access to power and water points. On-site amenities include toilets, hot showers, as well as washing and drying facilities. The surrounding area boasts a diverse range of recreational pursuits such as trout fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, caving, cycling, camping, and hiking amidst New Zealand's pristine native bush and majestic mountains.
